About Me
Hello, my name is Lilian Beyer, I prefer to be called Lily though. I recently graduated from Lisle High School in the Spring of 2021. Throughout high school I participated in French Club, Scholastic Bowl, Cheerleading, and Tennis. I love spending my free time with my friends and family, riding my longboard, going on adventures, and sitting down watching a good show or movie. My views on education are pretty average. My dream since I was in first grade was to go to college and to become a teacher, so I believe following and pursuing your dreams is the most important thing, if that doesn't involve education them who am I to stand in your way, do what you love as long as it's not hurting yourself or others. Up until middle school I didn't have a subject I struggled with besides History, once middle school came around Math was added into that category. I tried my hardest in middle school and it never seemed like it was enough, so when high school came around I didn't put in that much effort when I couldn't do it the first time, until Junior year. Junior year hit and I was succeeding and going in to ask questions and actually learning the way I should, then the pandemic that changed everyone's way of life hit. Online learning for me was a struggle, I lost all motivation and I couldn't learn that way, it made it so much more harder where I would stop going to classes until my school psychologist, Mr. M, helped me and told me that I'm going to receive what I give out, if I put in no effort I'd receive grades I didn't want. I then got all the help I could so when hybrid learning started my Senior year I was able to function and get used to being on the online setting for the few days a week. I believe education is my future so it has a lot of power, it'll either impact my future positively or negatively, but since I get to control my life it'll make the greatest positive impact. Education will steer me in the direction to my dream job, a Kindergarten teacher, it'll bring me happiness everyday. I've always inspired to be a teacher because of the way my past teachers have shaped me into the woman I am today, I want to pass on my knowledge and care to the next generation of students, and many after that.
